I-07General contractors

A low-voltage sub with drawings.

Smartech works under general contractors on new builds and renovations: coordinated drawings before rough-in, a schedule you can hold us to, and a closeout package that does not hold up yours.

  • GC-05
    Testing with the owner
Systems demonstrated and accepted with the owner's team.
  • GC-06
    Closeout package
As-builts, device lists, programming records and training sign-off.

SHT-03Closeout

Closeout starts at the beginning.

Retainage is released when closeout is complete, and security is often one of the last trades to finish. So we build the closeout package as we go: drawings updated as devices go in, programming recorded as it is done, training scheduled before the punch list, not after.

Florida law treats the bid itself as contracting: the attempted sale of contracting services and the negotiation or bid for a contract on these services also constitutes contracting. Ask every low-voltage sub for its license number with the bid. Ours is EG13000538.

SHT-05Questions

What GCs ask a security sub.

Are you licensed for the work?

Florida Certified Alarm System Contractor II, EG13000538, current through August 31, 2028. Verify it on DBPR.

Do you do fire alarm?

No. Class II covers all types of alarm systems other than fire. We coordinate with your fire alarm sub where systems meet.

Do you register as a subcontractor with us, or do we register with you?

Both happen. Send your prequalification forms to contact@smartechsecurity.com. Trades that want to work with Smartech can use the subcontractor registration.
