Sheet 05 · Substations and yards
Critical-infrastructuresecurity
Design and integration of electronic security for substations: perimeter, access control and video.
An unguarded substation is a copper depot. In 2018, stolen earthing systems at a substation in Zulia caused the explosion that took two 230 kV links out of service (CORPOELEC). Security is designed with the job, not after it.
What the workincludes
- Site risk analysis and perimeter design.
- Access control for yards, control rooms and joint bays.
- Video with analytics and intrusion detection.
- Integration with the operator’s control center.
- Protection of earthing systems and exposed conductors.
The questionwe hear most
“Who is accountable for security: you or the group?”
Only one. When another group company is involved in a job, the sheet names the accountable company and describes each scope.
